CGH Environmental Strategies, Inc. has been working with major institutions, businesses and government agencies throughout the United States since 1991 to design and implement waste reduction and pollution prevention initiatives and policies. In partnership with public agencies, private institutions and the packaging and supply industries, CGH has assisted in establishing ground-breaking programs and significantly reducing waste and the costs associated with waste management, with a particular focus on the health care sector.
In instituting the first integrated waste reduction programs at hospitals and health care facilities, CGH has become recognized as the nation's leading authority on waste issues in health care facilities. This work has also been recognized internationally and is being utilized in other countries, including India, Spain, Argentina, and Australia.
CGH brings a unique set of skills and experience to this work. Our expertise is supplemented by a network of Associates, who bring the best and most current expertise in hospital waste and pollution prevention issues, as well as in the design and implementation of management and education programs at health care facilities. These associates are all active practitioners in their chosen field of expertise which includes nursing and nurse management, infection control, hazardous waste management, ergonomics, institutional solid waste and recycling management, operations in nutrition services, facility design for optimal waste management, indoor air quality, protecting patient confidentiality, and worker safety.
This collective of carefully selected resource people provides CGH with flexibility in assembling the best team possible to meet client needs, whether in educational programming, product research, waste auditing or management system design.
CGH believes strongly that organizations can build their own capacity to problem solve and maintain dynamic programs which address environmental and worker safety issues. CGH¹s role is to assist clients in building that capacity while at the same time solving immediate problems. CGH has also worked with organizations to develop training programs for staff, structure strategic planning processes, or conduct research to identify problems and solutions within an organization or a community. CGH has also worked to assist in problem solving and communications between organizations and the communities in which they are based.
